The Forbidden City, also known as the Purple Forbidden City, was built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty and served as the residence for 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It covers an area of about 720,000 square meters, with a building area of approximately 150,000 square meters, and contains over 9,000 rooms in various palaces.
